Tea Cup Party Treats

Tea Cup Treats

Delight your friends with these yummy and impressive tea cup treats for your next kids party. They are easy to make, and easy to make them unique depending on what you use. We used round plain biscuits topped with icing, marshmallows, lifesavers as handles stuck on with icing and topped with a chocolate freckle.

The kids and adults loved eating them and I enjoyed making them. Great for any age or gender.

Muesli Cookies A Healthy Treat

Published by under Toddler Recipes

This is a great recipe as you can pretty much add what ever ingredients you like (or what ever you have in the pantry).  They are also yummy and not to bad for you and the kids either! And great for the lunch box!

What you need:

  • 2 cups raw muesli
  • 1 cup wholemeal self-raising flour
  • 1 cup of what ever dried fruit or nuts you like.  We like to include dates, cranberries, sultanas, apricot, almonds, desiccated coconut and choc chips.  Chop the dried fruit up so that everything is the size of a sultana.
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 80g light margarine melted
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 1 egg white

Here is how you do it:

  1. Preheat oven to 190C.  Line 2 large baking trays with baking paper
  2. Combine museli, flour, sugar, dried fruit in a large bowl. Make a well at the center. Add margarine and eggs, mix in dried ingredients gradually until well combined
  3. Using damp hands roll tablespoons of dough into balls. Place on prepared tray about 4cm apart for spreading. using a fork, flatten slightly. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on trays, cookies will firm.

Fruit Kebabs a Healthy Afternoon Snack for Kids

My son came home the other day and was very excited about making fruit kebabs.  He had read a book at school about making fruit kebabs and wanted to try it for himself.  So we cut up a few pieces of fruit, the kids chose what they wanted to put on and threaded them onto a skewer themselves and then enjoyed eating them!  It was a fun activity and a healthy afternoon snack!  For more yummy and healthy recipes for kids visit our kids recipe page at Baby-Patch.com   Below is a photo of my 3 year old daughter with the fruit kebab she made.

Cooking with Toddlers – GingerBread Man

Published by under Toddler Recipes

flour1.jpg Ben loves to help with the cooking. He has been nagging me to make Gingerbread Men for weeks now. Today was a rainy day so I decided to give him what he wanted and together we made gingerbread men, well actually they were gingerbread teddies as we do not have a gingerbread man cut out.

I think they ended up looking quite cute. Ben got pretty messy but we had a fun time and the teddies tasted great

Wombat Stew

Published by under Toddler Recipes

Ben is 27 months and has started to get a little more picky about food.  He use to eat anything I put in front of him, now he picks at food and only when he is really hungry does he eat anything.  I have been making a beef stew with vegetables and barley, lately he has not been eating it.  The other day I made exactly the same stew as always but called it Wombat Stew and he ate the lot!

Just goes to show that a bit of creative marketing can be effective.
