Best Parks For Toddlers in Perth
Perth has so many fantastic parks for toddlers, here are a few of our
favourites:
Kings Park Lottery West Family Area
– This play area has something for all ages under 5. There is a
dedicated under 2 year old play area with baby appropriate equipment
and sand pit.
The café ‘Sticky Beaks’ is reasonably priced and even has a play pen
where you could watch your crawling baby safely while you enjoy a
coffee. The play area has full toilet facilities, including small
toddler toilets. For older children visit the Synergy Park area in
Kings Park that has a creative dinosaur theme.
Jackadder Lake Reserve, Rosewood Ave Woodlands – This is a beautiful
spot, excellent park with sunshade during the summer months next to a
tranquil lake. Public toilet facilities close to the play area.
Faulkner Park Playground, Belmont
– This play area rivals Kings Park, it has a dedicated toddler play
area for under 2 year olds, is fully fenced with secure latches on all
gates. For older children there is a flying fox and other equipment.
The draw card of this park is that it has a
central volcano, a footpath spirals its way up to the top of the
volcano and mist emerges from the top simulating smoke! A café and
toilets are close by. More Information on the
Council Website.
Lake
Monger Reserve, Wembley
– This is another great play ground for kids. There are also ducks
and swans close to the play area and a mobile ice cream van is often
parked in the car park. Toilets are a long walk away. If you are up
for a walk the circuit around Lake Monger is 3.5 km, flat, beautiful
and pram friendly.
Matilda Bay, JH Abrahams Reserve
– A great playground by the water, kids can go for a dip in the river
and clean up in the outside shower. There is a 10 min walk along the
water to the kiosk.
Whiteman’s Park
– located in the Swan Valley, 25 minutes from Perth CBD. Whiteman’s
park has a ‘village’ that includes children’s playgrounds, a wading
pool, old fashioned lolly shop, craft shop, gallery and an old
printing press. There is a reasonably priced café and toilets. There
are often special activities and events on at the park.

Sir James Mitchell, South Perth Esplanade
– another excellent children’s playground by the water. Toilets and
Kiosk close by.
Pirate Ship Park,
Heathcote Reserve Applecross
– this park sits high up on the hill and provides a glorious view over
the Swan River. The main feature of this park is a massive
wooden pirate ship with slides, ladders and tunnels all worked in to
the structure. This section of the park is best suited to
children over 3 and there is a smaller boat and play area for younger
children. There is a kiosk on site, toilets, BBQ's and lots of
shade. The park is on Duncraig rd Applecross.
